Here the total article is divided by 3 parts
    1.   Fixed mindset and growth mindset.
    2.   Paradox of praise.
    3.  What you can do.

                     PART 1:- FIXED AND GROWTH MINDSET


Fixed mindset thinks ability cannot change.
Growth mindset thinks ability can change.
           How fixed and growth mindset affects on below things?
1.       Goals
2.       Responses
3.       Effort
4.       Strategies
                     Fixed mindset performance goals
1.       Potential can be measured.
2.       Validation from others.
3.       Low results not smart.
4.       Success and failure cause anxiety.

Growth mindset learning goals
1.       The goal is mastery and competence.
2.       Rewards and bonuses = how I am doing now.
3.       Increase performance.
4.       Increase enjoyment.
5.       Decrease negative emotions.

RESPONSES: how mindset affects and how mindsets react to the events?
When faced with failure or challenges.
       Fixed mindset responses:-
1.       Do not pay attention to learning.
2.       Lose self-esteem.
3.       Denigrate their intelligence.
4.       Under-represent past success and over-represent failures(pessimism)
5.       Believe it proves something stable about themselves.
Growth mindset responses:-
1.       Focus on learning rather than how they feel.
2.       Pay attention and do better in future.
3.       Try new ways of doing things.
4.       Self-motivating: ‘the harder it gets the harder I try’.
5.       Higher self-esteem-believe in their ability to learn.
                   
                   EFFORT: -how does mindset affect our view of trying hard or hardly trying
                          Fixed mindset responses:-
1.       Those with a fixed mindset view efforts as a reflection of low intelligence.
2.       Hard work means “I don’t get it” and “I’m not intelligent”.
3.     Effort = lack of ability.
                           Growth mindset responses:-
1.     Those with growth mindset see efforts as necessary part of success.
2.     They try harder when faced with setback.
3.     Effort = success.
4.     They use efforts to overcome ability.  

                    STRATIGIES: - how mindset affects success.
                            Fixed mindset responses:-
1.       Leaders with fixed mindset keep using wrong strategy when faced with a problem.
2.       Then they disengage from the problem.
3.       Finally they give up.
    
       Growth mindset responses:-
1.       Tend to generate other and new ways to do things.
2.       If one route doesn’t work they will try others.
3.       Think ‘outside of the box’ to solve problems because they believe that they ‘can’.



                                                          PART 2:- PRAISE
                 The way we interact with people can foster either growth or a fixed mindset.
                     Praise for effort vs. praise for ability.
                    Ability based praise: telling someone that they ‘are very clever’ after completing the                            task.
                    Specific and profit oriented: telling someone ‘well-done for putting effort into task, I                            can                                                          
                     Really see how that can have helped you’.         

                    
                                              PART 3:- WHAT CAN I DO?
               10 TIPS FOR FOSTERING THE GROWTH MINDSET
1.       Practice what you preach.
2.       Emphasize the joy of learning in going success.
3.        Set appropriately high expectations and provide support.
4.       Be mindful of the goals you set for your team and the messages they send.
5.       Praise effect, practice, and process - not outcome.
6.       Use failures as an opportunity for reflection and growth.
7.       Provide honest, constructive and criticism that emphasizes the growth.
8.       Make concrete plans for growth.
9.       Point out the perseverance/effort of favorite athletes and stars.
